JJZZJ Days Of Our Lives

My Joy and Peace – part 2

These are two incidences (happened quite some weeks ago) which tells me that one of the reasons we are blessed with Jeff is that he will bring peace and then joy to the hearts of all around him.

Incidence One :

Tuesday. Garage day. On the designated Garage days, Jeff goes to his grandparents’ place and mummy takes kor kor and jie jie to town. This particular Garage day, Josh took leave. So… we brought Jeff to his parents’ place a bit earlier. I was the one who carried Jeff up.

Lo and behold, mother-in-law’s face was so so so so black and she didn’t even answer me when I addressed her. OOps, the volcano was erupting, I better make myself scarce as fast as I could.

She was not happy with her son. Why? He borrowed the car the night before and she thought that he would return it soon. My dear hubby didn’t tell her specifically when he would return it, so she assumed that it was in the morning. It upsetted her that she couldn’t run her errand since hubby was using the car in the morning too. Then, hubby wanted to use the car in the evening too and so she erupted.

But, why me? Haiz …. nevermind, it was her son who made her upset, and her son is my husband too. *grins

When it was time to fetch Jeff from in laws’ place, I didn’t dare to go up. I told Josh that he should go up and face the music. Hahahaha ….

But … Josh came down smiling. He said that our baby had made grandma very happy and peace was restored even without him pacifying his mum. In his own words, Josh said that mum was smiling allllllllllllllllllllll through when she told him what the baby did and the routines. She was very happy indeed.

Thank you, baby Jeff, our peacemaker. :)

Incidence Two :

I always buy donuts for Zane from a particular bakery near my place. And it has to be that bakery and none others.

As usual, I waited for the donuts to be out. Once I saw the lady taking the donuts out and starting to sugar coat them, I went up to her and said “Two donuts, please.”

She packed for me and then after her cashier took my money, she said loudly, “Bao4 xue4 guan3 !” (translate : burst my blood vessel, meaning making her angry) and gave me a look. I was the only one at the counter, so it must be for me lah. I was too tired to rebutt.

However, the more I thought of it, the angrier I got eventually. I was telling myself, the next round I make a trip to her bakery shop, I would seek her out and ask her if her blood vessel was okay by then. Ha!

Ok, the next day, I went to the bakery shop, all prepared to shoot her and also be prepared for a tongue war. Jeff was with me.

She saw me, gave me a look again. And then looked down at Jeff ……… within seconds, I saw broad smiles and cooings from her to Jeff !!! Jeff smiled back and that made her day !! She was so happy that she chatted with me, smiling allllllllllllllll through. Ok, I dropped my “revenge” plan already. Hahahahaha ….

Thank you, baby Jeff, my peacemaker. :)

Cool babe, yah? By just being himself, he has been bringing peace and reconciliation. I believe more to come. He is living up to his name. Amen. :)

My Joy and Peace

Jeff Ng (Huang Jia Le) :)

A name is very vital to a person’s character. This, I strongly believe in. There are people who change their names when they know this. Not out of superstition but rather we all want good to be in our life.

Over naming our 3rd baby, Josh and I thought for a very long time. This is the baby we took the longest to name. Plus the fact that we had always thought that we were going to have a baby girl, it made it even more challenging.

We only confirmed Jeff’s name on his 3rd day with us.

Initially, it was suppose to be Lecia Ng (Huang Jia Le). It means ‘Joy’ in both the English and Chinese names.

When baby turned out to be a boy, we had a hard time in TMC trying to think of a name for him. Finally, just before we discharged from TMC, we settled for Jeff.

Jeff because we thought he was made on Jeff Chang’s concert night. Jeff Chang also shares the same name as Josh (Chinese name). Then we looked up the Biblical meaning of Jeff. It means “God’s peace”. Not the world’s peace or any ordinary peace, but God’s peace. We like it instantly.

As for “Jia Le”, we concluded that “Jia Le” is an unisex name and after consulting a few Chinese teachers and they said that they come across boys using this name, so we thought we shall stick to “Jia Le” as we really want this baby to bring  joy to the family. Also, of all the Chinese names we threw out to my in laws, mil likes “Jia Le” most. Meaningful and easy to call, especially when you want to call him “Le Le”. Call already also happy. :D

I’ve  more to share on Jeff being the joy and peace in my life. However, I’ve to prepare Zoe’s lunch now and followed by never ending motherly and tutory duties. Next post, maybe. The next round I can find some time with mr laptop.
